His Majesty King Abdullah II accepts a traditional Circassian “Sheharkhon” ornamented with the Hashemite Flag, as a gift presented by the Royal Circassian Honor Guard on the occasion of His Majesty’s 55th birthday.

Sheharkhon is the traditional headdress that Circassians wear on a daily basis. Historically, Circassian knights would wear it on their shoulders and use it as head and face covers during battles, and ornament it with their tribes symbolic crests known as  the “Damegha”, for recognition.
