His Majesty King Abdullah II held separate meetings on Monday with Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, and Lebanon Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

During the meetings, held on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty reiterated the need to step up joint Arab efforts to restore calm in the region, and safeguard the security and sovereignty of Arab states.

Sheikh Sabah conveyed to the King the greetings of Kuwait Emir Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and His Majesty asked Sheikh Sabah to express best wishes to Sheikh Meshal.

During the meeting with Sheikh Sabah, the King affirmed his condemnation of Iran’s attacks on Kuwait and other Arab Gulf states, whose security and stability is central to broader regional peace.

His Majesty’s meeting with Prime Minister Salam addressed the need to put an end to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, and to support the efforts of the Lebanese people in preserving their country’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

The meeting also touched on the outcomes of the Aqaba Process meetings held last week in Paris, which focused on ways to assist the Lebanese Armed Forces, with the prime minister expressing his country’s appreciation for Jordan’s steadfast support.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meetings.
