Create a thriving Jordanian youth generation protected against risky behaviours of addiction

Main objectives

  • Prevent use of drugs (as well as tobacco) through raising awareness and educating children and youth about the harms of such risky behaviors.
  • Build adolescents and children capacity in social and life skills and engage them in productive activities.

The initiative targets students in different grades through programs that are age sensitive, where a number of extracurricular activities are designed for 4th-6th graders, a series of interactive, skill based workshops target 7th-9th graders  and a peer to peer education program will run for those aged 15 years and above through relevant NGOs and youth centers.

Moreover, the initiative is built on the Train of Trainer (ToT) model, whereby teachers and counselors in schools will be trained by experts to deliver the programs to their students in schools. The initiative will focus on enhancing awareness of parents regarding drugs, sharpen their mentoring skills enhance their ability to realize symptoms of drugs use, and learn how to intervene, and support their children’s resilience.

The Crown Prince Foundation initiative is managed by the Royal Health Awareness Society in cooperation with Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth, Anti Narcotics Department, National Addicts Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Health, Mentor Arabia and relevant foundations and NGOs.
